Your choice to embellish with a fairly neutral color scheme means that you will be working generally with lumination, off-white, khaki, tan, bravo, grey and dark-colored. So now that you have made that choice, what is your next step?
You should first determine the two or three major colors for your decorating venture, and then pick a 4th color as an feature. This is where the design choice becomes exciting. For example, you may choose that your major three colors will include off-white, tan and dark-colored. The feature color could be a further color of the tan that you chosen (or several colors of tan) and use it on feature pads, in a designed place rug, graphics, statue, etc. By using light and further colors of tan, you keep the furnishings exciting but still quite fairly neutral. Black can be quite stunning and not frustrating if used in little amounts.
Or, you may choose to go down a different decorating road and create a rush of cherry red in very little and choose amounts as your feature color with the scheme as described above.
